BREEAM In-Use Certification for Hradec Králové Retail Park

The Hradec Králové – Kukleny retail park, part of the ZDR Investments Qualified Investor Fund portfolio since 2022, has been awarded the BREEAM In-Use environmental certification at the Very Good level. It is the very first property within the ZDR Investments group portfolio to achieve this internationally recognised certification. Several other retail assets within the Czech portfolio are expected to follow in the coming weeks.

The Hradec Králové retail park (specifically, the first phase) received the BREEAM In-Use certification at the Very Good level. BREEAM In-Use is a global standard for evaluating operational buildings, assessing their environmental impact across ten categories – from energy use, water and waste management, and indoor environmental quality, to materials, management, transport, pollution, innovation, and support for biodiversity.

The certification affirms ZDR Investments’ commitment to managing sustainable and responsible assets. At the Hradec Králové – Kukleny retail park, a range of measures has been implemented to reduce the property’s environmental footprint, enhance the comfort of tenants and visitors, and support the development of the local environment.

Examples of implemented measures include:

  • Installation of covered bicycle stands

  • Reduction of water flow in washbasins and showers

  • Installation of remotely readable water meters

  • Timed programming for cooling and ventilation systems

  • Installation of water leak detectors

  • Environmental and hydrological assessments and implementation of expert recommendations

  • Planting of trees and shrubs around the premises

  • Installation of birdhouses and insect hotels to support local wildlife

Retail Park Hradec Králové is part of ZDR Investments’ pilot project aimed at certifying approximately one-third of its Czech portfolio under the BREEAM In-Use standard. Additional properties will follow soon.

The ZDR Investments funds have been classified as Light Green under the SFDR regulation.
