A Sports Afternoon for the Whole Family at Aventin Shopping Jihlava

In June, the Aventin Shopping Jihlava retail park turned into a sports arena for an afternoon. Together with the HC Dukla Jihlava hockey club, we put on a Sports Afternoon packed with activities for kids and their parents alike.

Stalls surrounded by children, jerseys in Dukla's colours, and a car park filled to the edges. That was Saturday, 6 June, at Aventin Shopping Jihlava.

On arrival, every child received a game card to carry around the various stations, completing challenges and collecting stamps along the way. Stations spread across the park offered hockey and movement-based challenges, while a hockey academy run by HC Dukla Jihlava's youth players and a healthy-movement zone overseen by children's physiotherapy specialists kept things going. In the craft workshop, young fans made their own hockey souvenir to take home, and the stage programme was hosted by Pavel Cejnar of Radio Evropa 2. Players from the HC Dukla Jihlava first team also turned up on stage, joining in autograph sessions, photos, and interviews.

The day closed with a big prize draw. Children who had collected enough stamps from the stations took part, and the players of HC Dukla Jihlava handed out the prizes in person on stage.

Retail parks as community hubs

Large retail parks like Aventin Shopping Jihlava are about more than a quick shop. People come here to meet up, grab a meal, and spend their free time. We want them to be places worth returning to for the experience too. Family events help with exactly that, and they bring visitors to the retailers on site at the same time. That is why we organise them together with local partners, such as the HC Dukla Jihlava hockey club here in Jihlava.

The Sports Afternoon at Aventin Shopping Jihlava is part of a series of similar events we hold across our portfolio. Last year, at our retail park in Hradec Králové, we ran a Children's Day and the popular Back to School event at the end of summer, both with the same aim: to give families a pleasant afternoon out.
