Retail park in Vienna offsets the carbon footprint of 67 households

Real estate has a huge impact on the environment. In the EU alone, they are responsible for 40% of energy consumption and 36% of energy-related greenhouse gas emissions. As part of our ESG strategy, we are therefore working to minimise our energy consumption and reduce our environmental impact.

By installing solar panels on the rooftops of our retail parks, we are able to produce clean energy. In a previous article, we introduced the Voitsberg Retail Park. Now we will take a look at another of our Austrian properties - the Gatterederstraße Retail Park in Vienna

This park has a leasable area of over 4,000 m². It has been owned by our Qualified Investor Fund since 2021. Photovoltaic panels are installed on one of the buildings, which supply the city grid with the electricity generated. By covering the roof of one of the buildings with photovoltaic panels, the carbon footprint has been reduced by an amount equivalent to the energy consumption of 67 households per year in the past year alone.
